Excessive salt intake is the key dietary risk factor for NCDs, and a high salt/sodium intake is responsible for 1,75,000 deaths in India every year. The project focuses on preventing CVDs through hypertension management, sodium reduction, and eliminating trans fats. It aims to reduce sodium intake through targeted interventions and evidence generation.
Outsourcing support to NHSRC for “Free Drug Initiative
This project provides technical expertise and strategic support to state governments to strengthen the “Free Drug Initiative” and improve drug procurement and supply chains under national programs. Under this, we will coordinate and facilitate the initiative’s rollout, address operational issues, and work with state health departments to enhance drug procurement, distribution, and logistics.
Outsourcing support to RTSL for hiring of Chief Advisor
The project aims to leverage the experience and expertise of a senior public health expert to advance RTSL’s mission in India by facilitating policy-level engagement and advocacy at the state and national levels, providing strategic direction for scalable and sustainable CVH program interventions, and fostering partnerships with key stakeholders.
