The NCR Planning Board is preparing Functional Plans for NCR to align with its draft Regional Plan-2041 proposals and vision for the region’s development up to 2041.

NCR Planning Board is preparing Functional Plans for NCR for the perspective year 2041 with respect to various aspects as per the requirement of its draft Regional Plan-2041 proposals, including a functional plan for health. The Functional Plan preparation exercise includes studies, collection of primary and secondary data for required sector, data analyses and interpolation, formulation of strategies, proposed interventions, and identification of projects at regional, sub-regional and local level, as deemed fit, within the coverage and overall framework of NCR RP-2041. The Counter Magnet Areas (CMAs) have also been touched upon in the identified Functional Plan. The Functional Plan shall include the identification of associated infrastructure and other investment projects for the NCR. The outcome of this engagement will be a gap analysis and a set of strategic recommendations to enhance quality of care, which will be included in the health component of the Regional Plan 2041.

Outcome:

  • Preliminary landscape analysis and detailed assessment of health scenario and status in NCR
  • IPE Global, in collaboration with the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB), Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, successfully facilitated a Stakeholder Consultation workshop focused on strengthening healthcare services in the National Capital Region (NCR). The consultation yielded valuable recommendations and a roadmap for finalising the Health Sector Functional Plan for the NCR.

M.K. Padma Kumar is involved in developing strategies and managing operations for the IPE Global Group.

He has over 25 years of experience in the development sector, working in civil society organisations and international development agencies like DANIDA and DFID. As the Head of State Partnerships at the DFID India, he was responsible for developing partnerships, programme design, management and strategic oversight of all programmes implemented in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. He has managed various development programmes. His expertise lies in driving operational, financial and programmatic transformations. Before DFID, he was associated with Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), Help Age and World Wildlife Fund.

He holds a Master’s degree in Business Management with specialisation in Human Resource Management and Finance. He is extensively trained in Project Cycle Management, Grant Management, Performance Management, Leadership Skills and Change Management.
