The Meghalaya Health Systems Strengthening Project (MHSSP) aims to improve health system performance and the quality of services through strategic investments in programme management, health insurance, and service delivery. IPE Global serves as the Project Management Agency for MHSSP, providing comprehensive programme management and monitoring support, assistance with procurement and financial management processes, and technical expertise as required under the project.
We are delivering techno-managerial support to the Department of Health and Family Welfare to implement health system strengthening initiatives across the state. Additionally, we have advised the Government of Meghalaya on establishing a digital health information system to enhance data-driven decision-making and service delivery.
Output
- Deploy the entire set of assessment frameworks (PHC, CHC, DH, District DMHO, Directorates, MHIS) and operational module to implement IPA and support the setting up of pilot programs.
- Development and establishment of a comprehensive dynamic MHSSP Website and setting up of the sub-systems like PPMS (Project Performance Monitoring System).
- Initiation of Bio-medical Waste Management System in healthcare facilities – designing and conducting a BMW gap assessment study, initiation of pilot BMW collection and disposal system in 2 districts, etc.
- Established a tendering and procurement management system at MHSSP and built capacities of the MHSSP point person and team in procurement, tendering and contract/vendor management.
- Developed the “Detailed Operational Guidelines” for MMDSL operation.
- Assisted MMDSL in developing “Standard Specification for Medical Instrument & Equipment, Medical Furniture and Medical Consumables”.
- For nursing development, a comprehensive gap assessment report was developed to upgrade 6 nursing schools and a Nursing Vision Document for 2025 was formulated.
- Formulated “Key Ideas for MHSSP and Meghalaya Health Department for Program Implementation”, consisting of 14 key program ideas to strengthen the health programs in the state.
